When I was a kid I wanted to be a soccer player, I loved playing soccer with my teammates and I dreamed of being a professional player, it never crossed my mind to go to university.


Whenn I entered high school, the idea of ​​studying medicine came into my head, I tried too hard to study and prepare to get good grades and along the way I began to see other options between those kinesiology and chemistry and pharmacy since I liked it a lot the health area because I love to help people with the knowledge that I have acquired little by little in whatever I can do. Finally I decided on chemistry and pharmacy since I always dreamed of studying at the University of Chile and in addition to the fact that I had a great admiration for chemistry, perhaps because I always had good teachers of that subject.


Regarding the experience at the university, I can say that it has been very varied and somewhat different due to the circumstances of the Pandemic, in the context of having to study online, the little relationship with my classmates, etc.

When I qualify, I want to work in an assistance pharmacy within a hospital in order to provide a good service to patients, however, the area of ​​the community pharmacy also calls my attention, which is the most common area of ​​a pharmaceutical chemist.

Hi Class, my name is Juan Ibarra Landaida. I am a chemistry and pharmacy student. I am originally from Osorno, a city in southern Chile. Currently I live in Santiago and I am twenty one years old. I love computer games and watch anime, in special ‘‘Hunter x Hunter’’ because I love a character named ‘‘Hisoka’’ that showed in the anime.  My family is composed of my mother,my older sister Francisca, and my puppy Odin, although currently I just live with my mother and my dog .  My mother’s name is Iris, she is fifty-eight years old, she is a little bit old and grumpy woman hahaha but a wonderful mom, she gives all for me in the life, I love her. My hometown is very rainy and cold, it is always raining I don’t like that city very much,  I am very happy to have moved to Santiago when I was only one year old.  This is a little part of me. One of the people I admire the most is my high school teacher. Her name is María Angélica Albornoz, she must be about 55 years old at the moment, she is a teacher of the chemistry subject. I admire her because the taste I have for science and chemistry in general contributed to me. To this day I have certain memories where he spoke to us about chemistry or certain important people like Marie Curie, Max planck, Schrödinger. I think I owe a large part of who I am today to her, since she also taught me values ​​and gave me affection in difficult situations. I admire her a lot for the great vocation she had, always ready to teach, to smile at us. it really brightened my days when I had classes with her. In fact, she was so fond of us that she was the head of the course. I hope at some point to see her again after this pandemic ends and tell her how far I have come. As mentioned in the previous post, my favorite subject is Chemistry, in fact it was one of the great reasons that I study chemistry and pharmacy. Chemistry for me is so entertaining as it is a huge world of knowledge. In fact, at the beginning I knew that there was a lot to learn but when you are in university you realize that the knowledge about chemistry is practically infinite and that is very interesting for me since new things are discovered about what I am passionate about. In university I have learned a lot of chemistry, especially what is basic and general knowledge, however in organic and analytical chemistry it has been somewhat more complex. but not impossible if you spend enough time to learn and in general I know that I still have a world to learn, this is science, a new world with each discovery, renewal.
